Our story

2012

"Summer 2012. It is hot. We (Stéphan and Jochem) meet on a terrace in Amsterdam. We both work in the marketing & communication department of a large corporate. Although that is a world of slick messages, we mainly connect on a different level: our fondness of subject matter experts. People who really have something to say."

Jochem: "In 2013 I say goodbye to 'my corporate'. I exchange a permanent contract at Deloitte for a life as an independent adviser. The love for knowledge-intensive B2B organizations remains and I start working for law firms such as Loyens & Loeff , De Brauw and Dentons. I also work for consultancy firms such as EY and Berenschot."

Stéphan: "I had a great time at Microsoft, where I fulfilled the role as digital manager and coached directors in their online profiling. At the end of 2016, I leave Microsoft and also opt for an independent advisory role. On the dividing line between digital and people. I work for ABN AMRO, CGI, Eneco and DSM, among others. I also pick up my pen and write and publish the book 'Employees as online ambassadors'. Apart from that, I educate other marketing and communication professionals through Frankwatching and HAN University of Applied Sciences."

At the end of 2019, we join forces. Our drive and vision being almost idenctical. People Centered Growth is born from the belief that people do business with other people.

We know that organizations could use the strength of their employees more often and much better than they are currently doing. This can be done by teaching employees to convey their stories autonomously. Stories that provide guidance. That appeal to their target audience. That are sometimes edgy. That are different from the stories told by others. And that come from the subject matter experts themselves."

"After a few months of hard work and dedication, our proposition is ready. We can't wait to storm the market. And then... COVID-19. Every organization is pulling the brakes. The whole world is upside down.

Our proposition, based on 20 years of joint experiences and best practices, doesn't take off. We're tempted to go back to taking up interim jobs again and giving stand-alone workshops."

Let's introduce ourselves

Jochem Koole

Jochem Koole - Since 2013 I work as an independent adviser for clients like Berenschot, Dentons, EY, Heembouw, Loyens & Loeff, Railpro and Siemens Healthineers. Before that, I was a marketer, project manager for online agencies and a social business consultant for Deloitte.

In 2019, with pain in my heart, I left Amsterdam for The Hague. I like to take up my camera and can't wait until we're allowed to travel again.
